Dr. Ann English is an outstanding graduate student mentor. A dedicated faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Concordia University, she has supervised 32 master’s students, 21 Ph.D. students, and 16 postdoctoral researchers. She is actively involved in promoting graduate student research platforms and contributes extensively to fellowship and grant selection committees. Dr. English is “passionate about science and compassionate,” writes a former student. “She has a knack for finding an individual’s strength and helping to develop it.” As Graduate Program Director, Dr. English was responsible for aligning the Chemistry graduate programs with the highest quality programs in the discipline, and for developing and teaching numerous graduate courses.
