The Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS) is excited to host its second annual Summer Leadership Program for Deans, Associate Deans, and Directors of Graduate Studies. The program will be held in-person from 21-23 May 2024 at the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg. The program will be held in a bilingual environment with content presented in both French and English.
The CAGS Summer Leadership Program is designed to provide participants with new opportunities to learn, share, and network with colleagues from across the country. The workshop aims to develop leadership skills and experience in a collegial environment, and to stimulate conversation among a national network of individuals who are passionate about the future of graduate education. The program will feature a keynote address, daily workshops, and roundtable conversations on topics such as managing complexity, communication and conflict resolution, boundary setting, self-care, balancing priorities, fostering inclusive excellence, and other key trends in graduate education. Participants will benefit from a number of formal and informal networking opportunities, including an evening keynote, coffee breaks and shared meals, and a group dinner at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
CAGS invites new and experienced graduate deans, associate and assistant deans, senior administrative staff, graduate program directors, faculty supervisors, and others interested in graduate education to participate in the program. Those serving in acting or interim positions are welcome and encouraged to participate.
The CAGS Summer Leadership Program will be held in a bilingual environment with content presented in both French and English. Tickets will be sold through our online registration portal and will include all program materials as well as meals, coffee, and refreshments. A limited number of spaces are available for this event and tickets will be sold until the capacity of the workshop has been reached.
