CAGS has found Canada’s best graduate student mentor! We are pleased to announce that Dr. Matei Ripeanu, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia, has been selected as the winner of the 2019 CAGS Award for Outstanding Graduate Mentorship.
CAGS instituted this award in 2018 to highlight and celebrate faculty members who exemplify the highest standards in teaching, training, and mentoring. “There were many extraordinary nominees for the award this year,” reports CAGS Executive Director Sally Rutherford, “and the competition was extremely difficult to adjudicate. Nonetheless, Dr. Ripeanu’s commitment to mentorship stood out to the judges.”
CAGS is delighted to showcase the hard work and dedication of Dr. Ripeanu, and we hope that his outstanding commitment to his graduate students will inspire others!
