Congratulations to the winners of Duolingo’s 2025 Grad Challenge
The Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS) is excited to announce the winners of the Duolingo English Test (DET) Canadian Graduate Challenge, which ran from November 1 to December 19, 2025 in connection with the CAGS Annual Conference in Ottawa.
Two Canadian higher education institutions will each be awarded $2,500 CAD in prize funding to support professional development for faculty and staff (including research assistants) and/or initiatives that support graduate students on their campuses.
Congratulations to the two winners:
- Marc Usunier, PhD, Senior Director, Graduate Student Services, College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, University of Saskatchewan
- Tara Patterson, Doctoral Student/Research Assistant, Faculty of Education, University of Ottawa
Prize funds will be issued directly to the institutions in accordance with the contest rules.
