CAGS’ work on the future of the PhD continues with a consultation that will take place at this year’s Congress 2017.

CAGS’ work on the future of the PhD continues with a consultation that will take place at this year’s Congress 2017.

“Humanities and social sciences have led the way in contesting the boundaries of the dissertation,” says CAGS President, Brenda Brouwer..”it is a natural fit for us to partner with the Federation for the Humanities and Social Science to hold this event on Monday, May 29 between 1530-1730.” It will be led by Lisa Young, Dean and Vice-Provost of Graduate Studies at the University of Calgary, and a former CAGS board member.

This event is open to the general public. All those attending Congress 2017 an opportunity to participate in a roundtable discussion on the issue. This will feed into to the PhD project which will ultimately be presented at the CAGS conference in November.

If you haven’t read it yet, the latest version of the CAGS’ working group paper can be found here. If you have questions or contributions you can send them to phd-doctorat@cags.ca.
