CAGS AND SSHRC: Imagine Canada’s Future

pic

What role could graduate research play in building Canada’s future? That’s a question being put to gatherings at more than 20 graduate schools across the country this spring.

CAGS believes it is an important question and that graduate students hold a key to the answer. We are engaging humanities and social science students in some straight talk about opportunities and challenges for social innovation, research, and building our knowledge capital. From Vancouver Island to Newfoundland and Labrador, the events promise a lot of stimulating ideas. Highlights of this dialogue will be incorporated into a report which CAGS will submit to SSHRC’s Imagining Canada’s Future initiative. It will be used as a resource for decision-makers as they determine which research they will support.

We will also share this report with CAGS member schools as part of our 18-month long “Re-Thinking the PhD” project.

Stay tuned as we feature highlights from sessions happening later this spring.
